After earning my Bachelor’s Degree and J.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill and working in the Raleigh area and as an Assistant United States Attorney, I moved back to his hometown of Kinston in 1986 to work with my dad, Warren, mom, Barbara, uncle, Dan and sister Betty Blaine. We had just moved into our 'new' office at 518 Plaza Blvd. It was an honor to learn from family members as they sought to use their work to not only make a living but to help individuals and seek the welfare of the community.
I began to develop a general law practice. We tried to help people with their legal problems but also recognized that often legal problems were related to family and personal problems. I learned that part of earning the right to be heard included listening and caring. I am was driven by the thought of trying to help young people stay out of trouble.
Volunteer time in the schools and community is as important as the legal work I do.
It is such a privilege now to have coworkers who have embraced this vision that started with my great grand Dad in 1880.
